Norfolk is 0-10 against the Spartans since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Norfolk Panthers will be playing at home against the Lincoln East Spartans at 5:45 p.m. Norfolk is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
Last Tuesday, Norfolk came up short against the Knights and fell 46-36. Norfolk has not had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Norfolk saw an underclassman step up: Russell Aubrey scored 14 points. Aubrey is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Tasha Eisenhauer, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Lincoln East waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They took down Gretna 61-44. Lincoln East pushed the score to 58-34 by the end of the third, a deficit the Dragons cut but never quite recovered from.
Norfolk has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Lincoln East, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.
