In Friday's Canine Competition, Basic had to take the L. They took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Queen Creek Bulldogs on Friday. The Wolves' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Basic got a massive performance out of Tate Southisene, who went 1-for-5 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI Southisene has posted since back in April of 2024. Troy Southisene was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Tate wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Basic lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in three consecutive contests.

Basic's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Queen Creek, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Basic wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 5-3 victory against Faith Lutheran on the 15th. As for Queen Creek, they have also already played their next game, a 5-1 win against Basha on the 17th.
