Central Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryan Rodriguez, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Jellmar Mata was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Central Valley struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Leading Golden Valley to victory were Braden Castleton and Jeff Tangaan. Castleton scored 15 points, while Tangaan scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was David Denson, who scored eight points.
Central Valley bumped their record down to 5-15 with that loss, which was their 19th straight on the road. As for Golden Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
Central Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against El Capitan at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. El Capitan presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Central Valley in California (El Capitan is ranked 474th, while Central Valley is ranked 1054th). As for Golden Valley, they will head out on the road to take on Patterson at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Patterson is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
