It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Putnam County Midgets can now relate to. They and Westran were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but Putnam County suffered an agonizing 13-12 loss. Putnam County lost against Westran in their previous head to head back in September, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 24-14 score last time.
Westran was led to victory by Dc Dale and Marshall Kitchen. Dale picked up 70 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Kitchen threw for 108 yards and a touchdown.
Putnam County has yet to win a game on the road this season, leaving them with a 2-8 record. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.7 points per game. As for Westran, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.
Putnam County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Westran will look to defend their home field on Friday against Penney at 7:00 p.m. Penney is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
