Baseball Recap: Atlantic Christian Has No Trouble Against Glades Central

Atlantic Christian never got on the board in their matchup last Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Glades Central on Thursday. They blew past the Raiders 25-8. The Sharks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by nine runs or more this season.

Atlantic Christian got a massive performance out of Micah Herring, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Herring is becoming a predictor of the Sharks' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was David Gonzalez, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.

Atlantic Christian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Glades Central, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Atlantic Christian will host Glades Day at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Glades Central, they will be playing at home against Atlantic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.17 runs per game on average), something the Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
