The West Mesquite Wranglers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Longview, falling 43-0. West Mesquite has struggled against Longview recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Longview's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mason Washington, who rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Washington was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Maverick Rowe, who threw for 203 yards and a touchdown on only 14 passes.
West Mesquite has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Longview, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
West Mesquite does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Longview will face off against Porter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
