The ED White Commanders and the University Christian Christians will face off at 2:30 p.m. on January 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
After a string of seven wins, ED White's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of Atlantic Coast by a score of 55-52. While losing is never fun, ED White can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while Atlantic Coast is ranked 121st).
Despite their loss, ED White saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Falisa White, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. White is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Karli Torres was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 16 rebounds.
After soaring to a 25-point victory in their last game, University Christian came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell just short of Creekside by a score of 42-39. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss University Christian has suffered yet this season.
ED White's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for University Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-4.
ED White took a serious blow against University Christian in their previous matchup back in November of 2018, falling 54-17. Can ED White avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
