Having just played yesterday, the Lakeview Huskies will head out on the road to face off against the Utica Chieftains at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Lakeview was handed a three-point defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against the Stallions on Monday. Lakeview blew past the Stallions 77-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, Utica put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Lake Shore with a sharp 63-42 win. Utica has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Mason Brodi, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. He has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last nine times he's played. Sebastian Soriano was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five steals.
Lakeview's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.4 points per game. As for Utica, their win bumped their record up to 16-0.
Lakeview beat the Chieftains 58-48 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lakeview since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
