The Larue County Hawks will head out on the road to square off against the Elizabethtown Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Larue County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,557 points over their last 23 matchups.
Even though Fairdale scored an imposing 55 points on Saturday, Larue County still came out on top. Larue County took down Fairdale 69-55.
Larue County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jagger Mardis, who scored 26 points. Daniel Allen was another key contributor, scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Elizabethtown had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.8 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 70-55 victory over Bullitt East. That's two games straight that Elizabethtown has won by exactly 15 points.
Larue County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Elizabethtown, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-6.
Larue County came up short against Elizabethtown in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, falling 55-44. Can Larue County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
