The Tri-Valley Mustangs lost against the Winner Warriors back in March of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Tri-Valley fell 42-34 to Winner. Tri-Valley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Winner found their leader in underclassman Kylie Sachtjen, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Sachtjen hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Lilly Barfuss, who scored nine points.
Tri-Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Winner, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tri-Valley will take on West Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Dakota (West Central is ranked 71st, while Tri-Valley is ranked 54th). As for Winner, they will be playing at home against Corsica/Stickney at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
