The Eagan Wildcats will face off against the Farmington Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Eagan 3.7, Farmington 1.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Eagan turned things around against Shakopee on Monday. They came out on top against the Sabers by a score of 5-1.

Jocelyn McClary spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Eagan's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Holt, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Another was Lilly Whipple, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Farmington had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Monday. Everything went their way against the Lakers as they made off with a 12-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won nine contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Farmington also let their pitcher toss all six innings played and she was also dialed-in: Olivia Peterson gave up two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hannah Hansen, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Kaydence Moe was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Farmington pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Eagan, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Eagan came up short against Farmington when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 7-2. Will the Wildcats have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
