The Roxborough Wolves pushed their score all the way to 59 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 69-59 to Vaux Big Picture. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Monday (55), Roxborough still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Roxborough lost, one person who can't be blamed is Josh Jones. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Sahir Smith, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Roxborough were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vaux Big Picture only posted three assists.
It was another big night for Cameron Rembert, who scored 32 points along with eight rebounds and three steals for Vaux Big Picture. Those 32 points set a new season-high mark for him. Kurtis Jackson was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Roxborough's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Vaux Big Picture, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roxborough will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Philadelphia Electric Charter at 3:15 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Philadelphia Electric Charter has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Vaux Big Picture is on the road again on Thursday and play against George Washington at 4:30 p.m. on December 21st. George Washington is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 59 points per game.
