Wayne Preparatory Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amari Dowdy, who scored 8 points along with 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ariyona Willis , who scored 16 points along with 6 assists and 5 rebounds.
Wayne Preparatory Academy now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Wayne Christian, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wayne Preparatory Academy is on the road again on Friday and play against New Hanover at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st. New Hanover presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wayne Preparatory Academy in North Carolina (New Hanover is ranked 34th, while Wayne Preparatory Academy is ranked 226th). As for Wayne Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Arendell Parrott Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
