Trinity Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their tenth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 34-14 walloping at the hands of Veritas Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, Trinity Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while Veritas Christian Academy is ranked 147th).
Veritas Christian Academy was led to victory by Amya Cuddon and Caitlin O'Malley. Cuddon scored eight points along with four steals, while O'Malley scored 15 points. Cuddon is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. Zoey Torppey was another key contributor, scoring no points along with five steals.
Trinity Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Veritas Christian Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trinity Christian will take on Sussex County Tech at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Veritas Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against American Christian School at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The pair have allowed few points on average, (American Christian School: 28.6, Veritas Christian Academy: 25.5) so any points scored will be well earned.
