Basketball Recap: Cloe Creech's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hillsboro over Coram Deo Academy

Hillsboro's tournament run continued when they took on Coram Deo Academy on Saturday. The Hillsboro Eagles lost to the Coram Deo Academy Lions on the road by a 59-42 margin.

Hillsboro's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cloe Creech, who posted five points. Creech has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Callie Tucker, who put up 14 points.

Coram Deo Academy found their leader in sophomore Emily Revering, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave Revering a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Selah Johnson, who earned 16 points.

Hillsboro's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Coram Deo Academy, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-2.

Hillsboro wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 47-26 victory against Fort Worth Christian on the 28th. As for Coram Deo Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-52 win against Vanguard College Prep on the 28th.
