The Santaluces Chiefs will head out to face off against the Forest Hill Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Santaluces had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Atlantic on Thursday. Everything went Santaluces' way against Atlantic as Santaluces made off with a 13-4 win.
Ryan Giel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero). He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

In other batting news, Santaluces let Abner Garcia Rengifo and Daniel Vargas run wild. Garcia Rengifo scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Vargas scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave Vargas a new career-high. Jeremy Quezada was another key player, scoring two runs.
Meanwhile, Forest Hill won against Dwyer on Friday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. Forest Hill walked away with a 7-2 victory over Olympic Heights. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Ryan Gonzalez made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Aaron Moreno was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Yampiel Chavez, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.
Santaluces is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. Forest Hill's record is now 9-6.
Santaluces came out on top in a nail-biter against Forest Hill when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will Santaluces repeat their success, or does Forest Hill have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
