The Jefferson Panthers fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 27-18 victory over Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua on Saturday.
Jefferson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jack Johnson led the charge by rushing for 124 yards and two touchdowns. Luke Strizich and his 93 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Jefferson's win.
Jefferson is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Jefferson is on the road again on Saturday and play against Lincoln County at 1:00 p.m. on November 4th. Lincoln County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Jefferson likes a good challenge. Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
