After a string of five wins, New Bern Christian Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a hard 64-47 fall against Community Christian. New Bern Christian Academy has struggled against the Cyclones recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
New Bern Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Willis, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Luke Puchalski, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Community Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jack Beamon out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Beamon has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Gattis, who scored 21 points.
New Bern Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Community Christian, their win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-1.
New Bern Christian Academy will take on the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Community Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
