Anderson is 0-4 against Bastrop since April of 2022 but things could change on Monday. The Trojans will head out to square off against the Bears at 1:00 p.m. Anderson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
Anderson took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against Richards School for Young Women Leaders as they made off with a 12-6 victory. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with Richards School for Young Women Leaders: they've now won three in a row.
Brinkly Eaton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Eaton was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Anderson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Bastrop ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past Crockett 10-9. The game was the first time the Bears have beaten the Cougars on their field since February 4, 2020.
The team relied heavily on Madison Perez, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Ryan Stephanick, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Anderson's record is now 8-9. As for Bastrop, their record now sits at 8-6-1.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Anderson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .426. However, it's not like Bastrop struggles in that department as they've averaged .327. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Anderson might still be hurting after the 17-2 defeat they got from Bastrop when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
