Basketball Recap: Jarrell Little Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Northeast

There's no place like home for Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. Everything went their way against the Northeast Vikings on Tuesday as Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech made off with a 77-52 victory. Given Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while Northeast is ranked 422nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jarrell Little led the charge by going 10 for 21 en route to 25 points and four steals. Little is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last eight games he's played. Hasan Laws was another key player, going 5 of 9 on his way to 16 points in addition to seven boards and six steals.

When it comes to explaining why Northeast lost, don't look at Jonathan Miller. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bobby Perry, who posted 13 points along with seven boards and six assists.

Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-10. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Northeast, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech will take on Holy Ghost Prep at 7:00 p.m. on February 4th. As for Northeast, they will look to defend their home court on February 6th against Martin Luther King at 3:15 p.m. Martin Luther King will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Northeast surely won't give up without a fight.
