The West Johnston Wildcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They put the hurt on East Wake with a sharp 59-38 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for West Johnston as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Despite the defeat, East Wake had strong showings from Kristen Ashe, who scored ten points along with six steals, and Cadyn Edwards, who scored nine points along with 15 rebounds and three steals.
West Johnston's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-7. As for East Wake, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Johnston will take on Smithfield-Selma at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Smithfield-Selma comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last ten games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for East Wake, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Fike at 6:15 p.m. Fike presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than East Wake in North Carolina (Fike is ranked 129th, while East Wake is ranked 473rd).
