The biggest upset of the week belonged to Torrance, who took down 308th ranked South, 32-25.
Lars Nootbaar and Jamie Stewart provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Lawndale. The connection was good for 96 yards, the longest such play in Pioneer this season.
El Segundo's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Nootbaar threw for 301 and four touchdowns and Stewart had 111 yards receiving. On the ground Henry Doby chipped in 24 yards. Austin Kurke helped El Segundo's passing attack out by catching three balls for 70 yards.
El Segundo's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Daniel Zeman has thrown for 948 yards and nine touchdowns this season, while Stewart has 29 catches for 368 yards. Austin Brasher leads the league in rushing with 286 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Cardinals take on North. Lawndale is in fourth place, while the Saxons are in first place.
The Tartars moved up to 473 from 566 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Pioneer. A 32-25 win over the Spartans helped Torrance improve its standing.
