Westover got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dahliyana Baldwin out in front who posted eight points and five steals. Baldwin has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Cheyenne Soles was another key player, putting up seven points.
Meanwhile, E.E. Smith played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Terry Sanford, falling 64-42. The Golden Bulls haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Westover will have to keep a close watch on Alonnie Baldwin - Muldrow and Amy Boa, a pair of players who had a big impact on E.E. Smith's prior game. Baldwin - Muldrow went 5 of 12 on her way to 14 points and four steals, while Boa dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Those ten rebounds gave Boa a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Cordero, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 12 points.
Even though they lost, E.E. Smith smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in five consecutive games.
Westover's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for E.E. Smith, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
