Central Bucks South has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against The Central Bucks West Bucks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Central Bucks South got themselves on the board against Neshaminy, but Neshaminy never followed suit. They beat the Skins by the very same score they won with last week: 42-0. Given Central Bucks South's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Neshaminy is ranked 169th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Central Bucks South's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Anthony Leonardi, who rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also picked up 34 receiving yards. Leonardi's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Pinkerton, who rushed for 93 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.
Meanwhile, Central Bucks West put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 28-0 win over Pennridge. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Central Bucks West had established a 21 point advantage.
Central Bucks South's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.8 points per game. As for Central Bucks West, their win on Friday also bumped their record up to 8-0.
Central Bucks South was able to grind out a solid victory over Central Bucks West when the teams last played back in October of 2022, winning 27-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central Bucks South since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
