Volleyball Recap: South Lyon East Has No Trouble Against Walled Lake Northern + How To Watch

South Lyon East not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since October 24, 2024 (when they won 3-0). They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Walled Lake Northern Knights. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won four in a row.

South Lyon East was especially dominant in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-13, 25-17.

Addison Stepp had an outrageously good game as she had 19 digs and six assists. Those 19 digs gave her a new career-high.

South Lyon East was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive matches.

Walled Lake Northern's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Allie Epley, who had 13 digs and one assist, and Alivia George, who had eight digs. Epley is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

South Lyon East's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Walled Lake Northern, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

As for Walled Lake Northern, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Marian on the 6th.
