The result was an unpleasant reminder to Denver North of the 60-50 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Denver North lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brady Aubuchon. Despite the final result, he scored eight points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Diego Bueno, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Shane Curry continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Thomas Jefferson, scoring 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Curry has scored all season. Doren Sacha was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Denver North's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-5. As for Thomas Jefferson, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Denver North will face off against the Cowboys at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Colorado (Denver West is ranked 113th, while the Vikings are ranked 123rd). As for Thomas Jefferson, they will head out on the road to face off against the Fusion at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Regis Groff focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Wednesday.
