Richland has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the North Border co-op [Walhalla/Pembina] Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Richland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Richland lost to Sisseton at home by a decisive 60-42 margin.
Despite their defeat, Richland saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Nick Mjoness, who scored 11 points along with three steals, was perhaps the best of all. Mjoness scored a full 26.2% of Richland's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Nick Wulfekuhle, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, North Border co-op [Walhalla/Pembina] made easy work of Park River/Fordville-Lankin last Tuesday and carried off a 70-46 win. The win was just what North Border co-op [Walhalla/Pembina] needed coming off of a 64-44 defeat in their prior contest.
Richland now has a losing record at 1-2. As for North Border co-op [Walhalla/Pembina], their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
