McNairy Central owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Hardin County Tigers with a sharp 8-0 win. Considering the Bobcats have won seven games by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
The result came thanks to Bailee Shelton's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 17 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Kenli Bingham and Carlee Shelton did most of the damage at the plate: Bingham went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double, while Carlee scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Shelton has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Callie Finlayson, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
McNairy Central has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.
