The Dundalk Owls had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They snuck past Parkville with a 66-61 victory. The victory was all the more spectacular given Dundalk's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 231st, while the Knights are ranked 70th).
Despite the loss, Parkville still got an impressive performance from Mikko Persia, who scored 27 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Persia has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Cameron Alexander, who scored 21 points.
Dundalk's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Parkville, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dundalk will take on the Millers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Parkville, they will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Aberdeen's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
