The Southwestern Rebels will face off against the Providence Pioneers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Southwestern is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
Southwestern will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Saturday, then bounced right back against New Washington on Saturday. The Rebels were the clear victors by a 17-7 margin over the Mustangs. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Chloey Leach made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up six earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Jenna Owens was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two doubles, and one triple. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Rorie Scroggins was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Southwestern always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Providence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against West Washington, falling 14-2.
Providence saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ceci Zeller (2026), who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Providence's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Southwestern, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.
Providence's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Southwestern hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. It's a different story for Providence, though, as they've only averaged .245. Will they be able to contain Southwestern's hitters?
