The Edgewood Academy Wildcats waltzed into their matchup Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They snuck past Hooper Academy with a 48-44 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Edgewood Academy also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Leading Edgewood Academy to victory were Lexie Smith and Lindsey Brown. Smith scored 16 points along with four steals, while Brown scored 24 points along with six assists and five rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least 25% of Edgewood Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Madison Martin, who scored two points along with ten rebounds and three blocks.
Edgewood Academy's win bumped their record up to 20-3. As for Hooper Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edgewood Academy will challenge Evangel Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Evangel Christian is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games. As for Hooper Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Autauga Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Autauga Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Monday.
