Rhode Island School for the Deaf are ranked highly in their home state, and on Tuesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Marie Philip Galloping Ghosts. Rhode Island School for the Deaf ended up on the wrong side of a tough 50-29 walloping at the hands of Marie Philip. Rhode Island School for the Deaf lost against Marie Philip in their previous head to head last Saturday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 55-20 score last time.
It was another big night for Xavier DeLeon, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten steals for Marie Philip. That makes it four consecutive games in which DeLeon has scored at least 25% of Marie Philip's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremy Novas, who scored six points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Rhode Island School for the Deaf now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Marie Philip, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games.
