Softball Recap: Garfield Wins Going Away Against Eastside Catholic

Garfield lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Eastside Catholic, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's contest. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Crusaders with a sharp 15-4 win on Friday. Considering the Bulldogs have won seven matchups by more than ten runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Jordana King, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Maddy Woodling, who scored three runs while going 4-for-4.

King wasn't the only one making solid contact: Garfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 14 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Garfield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for Eastside Catholic, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garfield will face off against Mercer Island at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Eastside Catholic, they will square off against Holy Names Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Holy Names Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Eastside Catholic surely won't give up without a fight.
