The Eastridge Lancers will head out to take on the Palmyra-Macedon Red Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastridge's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Palmyra-Macedon's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Eastridge is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over Newark on Friday. The Lancers' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.
Evan Bishop made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Eastridge is 5-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-9 otherwise. Bishop was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Xzavier Hughey was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Peyton Kispert, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Palmyra-Macedon waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 9-4.
Like Eastridge, Palmyra-Macedon also got a great game from a two-way player: Camron Quick. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Quick has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and two runs.
In other batting news, Palmyra-Macedon got a big performance out of Brady Leo, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Gavin Everts was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Eastridge's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-10. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Palmyra-Macedon, their record is now 14-4.
Eastridge might still be hurting after the 9-2 loss they got from Palmyra-Macedon in their previous meeting back in May of 2021. Can the Lancers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
