Decatur hasn't had much luck against Peninsula recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Golden Gators will look to defend their home field against the Seahawks at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Decatur's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Beamer as they made off with a 10-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Golden Gators sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

The team relied heavily on Spencer Holloway, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Eric Havili was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Peninsula won against Lakes on Monday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Seahawks blew past the Lancers 8-1. The Seahawks haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Pete Browand made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Browand was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other pitching news, Daniel Sleeter looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Isaac Schultz-Tait was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Copeland, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Decatur pushed their record up to 11-0-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Peninsula, their win bumped their record up to 9-3-1.
Thursday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Decatur has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .456. However, it's not like Peninsula struggles in that department as they've averaged .443. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Decatur suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Peninsula in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Will the Golden Gators have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
