If Wilmot/Waubay/Summit were expecting payback for the 6-44 loss against Deuel the last time they met, then they were shortchanged. Wilmot/Waubay/Summit took a hard 6-26 fall. They were down by 0-26 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
No one had a larger role in the success than sophomore Carter Hoffman, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 142 yards and 1 touchdown. This was the first contest for both squads, starting Wilmot/Waubay/Summit off on the wrong foot at 0-1, while giving Deuel a 1-0 record.
Next week, Wilmot/Waubay/Summit take on Britton-Hecla at 7:00 PM. As for Deuel, they will face of against Webster.
