The Rootstown Rovers gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They secured a 49-45 W over Field. That's another feather in the cap for Rootstown, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Rootstown was led to victory by Nadia Lough and Colbie Curall. Lough scored 9 points along with 14 rebounds, while Curall scored 11 points along with 5 steals.
When it comes to explaining why Field lost, one person who can't be blamed is Delilah Rahe. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ally Harlin, who scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds.
Rootstown's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Field, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rootstown will take on Beaumont School at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Field, they will head out on the road to face off against Canton Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
