Little Wound has been on the road for seven straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Red Cloud Crusaders at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Little Wound rang in the new year with a 48-41 victory over Aberdeen Christian. 48 seems to be a good number for Little Wound as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, Red Cloud put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Custer 53-22 at home. Red Cloud has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 24 points or more this season.
Red Cloud's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jodene Hunter, who scored 15 points along with two steals, and Ashlan Carlow-Blount, who scored 12 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Carlow-Blount is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Taleah Lunderman, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Little Wound's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Red Cloud, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0.
Little Wound was taken down by Red Cloud 81-33 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Will Little Wound have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
