The team also got some help courtesy of Yoselin Perry, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Nuview Bridge had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against Desert Christian Academy on Monday as they made off with a 16-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won eight games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Mia Aguiluz made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. Aguiluz was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Nuview Bridge got a massive performance out of Sofia Barrera, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Nathalia Portillo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Nuview Bridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .586. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in nine consecutive contests.
California Military Institute's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Nuview Bridge, their win bumped their record up to 9-6-1.
Wednesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. California Military Institute has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .516. However, it's not like Nuview Bridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .676. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
