Summit extended the longest winning streak in Mid-State 38 - Raritan this week by beating Warren Hills Regional, 49-28. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Hilltoppers.
Somerville lost to Johnson 24-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Luke Christiano was a key player and the best on defense this week as Cranford lost to Ridge. The 5-foot-8 junior grabbed 1 interception.
Christiano was the best wideout in the league this week as the Cougars fell to the Red Devils. Christiano tallied 2 receptions for 106 yards. Jack McCaffery helped Cranford's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 62 yards.
6-foot-0 quarterback Joe Lucas of the Pioneers is the league leader in passing yards this season with 641. He has also thrown 3 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Christiano. The Cranford star has 13 catches for 334 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Summit takes on second place Delaware Valley. Summit topped the Blue Streaks last week, while Delaware Valley bested North Plainfield.
