The Chatham Charter Knights will venture away from home to face off against the Clover Garden School Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
On Friday, Chatham Charter made easy work of Southern Wake Academy and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Chatham Charter took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-14, 25-15.
Meanwhile, Clover Garden School got the win against Central Carolina Academy on Friday by a conclusive 3-0. The Grizzlies haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
While Clover Garden School won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-23, 25-19.
Chatham Charter better focus on containing Hanna Tickle and Chloe Welch as the pair were huge in Clover Garden School's win. Tickle had three digs and three aces, while Welch had nine digs and two aces. Tickle has been hot, having also posted 20 or more assists the last eight times she's played.
Clover Garden School was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 12 consecutive matchups.
Chatham Charter's record now sits at 11-12. As for Clover Garden School, their record is now 16-6.
Chatham Charter couldn't quite get it done against Clover Garden School in their previous meeting back in September as they fell 3-1. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
