The Raymondville Bearkats can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They took down Grulla 31-13. The win was just what Raymondville needed coming off of a 37-7 defeat in their prior match.
Raymondville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chris Gonzalez out in front who picked up 100 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 46 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Gonzalez's longest reception was for an incredible 89 yards. Another player making a difference was Luis De La Paz, who threw for 134 yards and two touchdowns on only nine passes.
Raymondville's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Grulla, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
Raymondville will be playing in front of their home fans against Bishop at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. As for Grulla, they will head out on the road to face off against Port Isabel at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. Port Isabel will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
