Country Christian's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tyson Smith, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Smith is becoming a predictor of the Cougars' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 4-7 when he doesn't).
The victory got Country Christian back to even at 7-7. As for St. Paul, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 8-3.
Country Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Buckaroos: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
