The Nativity BVM Green Wave waltzed into their contest on Friday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They blew past Shenandoah Valley 68-37 at home. Nativity BVM has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Leading Nativity BVM to victory were Mike Quirk and Trey Keating. Quirk scored nine points along with five assists and five steals, while Keating scored 24 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Keating has scored at least a third of Nativity BVM's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Walborn, who scored three points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Nativity BVM has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Shenandoah Valley, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-16.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nativity BVM won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against West Shore Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 27th. West Shore Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 551st, while Nativity BVM is ranked 245th). As for Shenandoah Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Marian Catholic at 7:30 p.m. Marian Catholic has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
