The Chino Valley Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 52-31 walloping at the hands of Northwest Christian. Chino Valley has struggled against Northwest Christian recently, as their match on Monday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Northwest Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Katelyn Best, who scored ten points along with nine steals and eight assists. That's the first time this season that Best posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Quinn Gray, who scored 18 points along with three steals and three blocks.
Chino Valley has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Northwest Christian, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-5.
Chino Valley will be playing at home against Camp Verde at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Camp Verde presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Chino Valley in Arizona (Camp Verde is ranked 95th, while Chino Valley is ranked 237th). As for Northwest Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Fountain Hills at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Fountain Hills is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
