The Poquoson Islanders lost against the Nandua Warriors back in January of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Poquoson fell 59-48 to Nandua.
Several Islanders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dominic Galacgac, who scored 16 points. Dayne Galacgac was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Poquoson bumped their record down to 1-8 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Nandua, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Poquoson won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Grafton at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. Grafton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Poquoson in Virginia (Grafton is ranked 42nd, while Poquoson is ranked 308th). As for Nandua, Nandua and Crisfield will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Crisfield will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
