The Jordan Falcons will take on the Laney Buccaneers on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Jordan comes in on nine and Laney on 18.
Jordan is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Wakefield get on the board and left with a 3-0 win.

Not much got past Luke Samples, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep Wakefield off the board. Samples has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Logan Greene, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.
Meanwhile, Laney faced Ashley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Buccaneers blew past the Screaming Eagle 10-4. Considering the Buccaneers have won ten matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
TJ Ziermann was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Ziermann was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Carston Wedemeyer was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Evan Skobel was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Laney's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Jordan, their victory bumped their record up to 18-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Jordan has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Laney struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Jordan came up short against Laney when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 5-2. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
