Huffman came out on top in a nail-biter against Tarrant and snuck past 12-10. The victory was just what Huffman needed coming off of a 15-4 defeat in their prior contest.
Omari Cole was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off seven hits. Cole was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Huffman got a massive performance out of Chris Morris, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with a home run, an additional RBI, and a stolen base. Morris has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Dylan Craig was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Center Point was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. Their tough 27-1 defeat to Jackson-Olin might stick with them for a while.
Huffman has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4-1 record this season. As for Center Point, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
