Davis has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Timpview Thunderbirds at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Davis is ranked 13th, while Timpview is ranked 23rd).
Last Tuesday, Davis strolled past Woods Cross with points to spare, taking the game 48-29.
Davis' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kendra Kitchen, who scored 13 points, and Kate Richards, who scored 13 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Kitchen has scored at least 25% of Davis' points. Kate Willard was another key contributor, scoring 5 points.
Meanwhile, Timpview had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against Pleasant Grove by a score of 60-49.
Their wins bumped Davis to 4-0 and Woods Cross to 2-1.
Davis was able to grind out a solid win over Timpview in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, winning 42-33. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Timpview's Natalia Ballin, who scored 16 points along with 5 steals. Now that she won't be playing on Thursday, will it be that much easier for Davis to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
