The Osceola Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Lawrence-Nelson Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Osceola took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They claimed a resounding 52-24 win over Nebraska Christian. The Bulldogs pushed the score to 52-18 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.

Jackson Winslow continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 159 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Those 159 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Brycen Kula was another major influence, as he rushed for 137 yards and ran in a TD.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Osceola was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 411 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nebraska Christian only rushed for 195.
Meanwhile, Lawrence-Nelson entered their tilt with Giltner on Thursday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They never let the Hornets get on the board and left with a 64-0 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Raiders' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Hornets are ranked 143rd).
Osceola better keep an eye on Wyatt Frey. He was instrumental in Lawrence-Nelson's win, rushing for 70 yards and three scores on only six carries, while also throwing for 165 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 80% of his passes. Frey is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Jackson Williams was in the mix too, providing Lawrence-Nelson with two touchdowns.
Lawrence-Nelson's record is now 7-1. As for Osceola, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Thursday's game might be decided on the ground. Osceola has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 245.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Lawrence-Nelson struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 267.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Osceola against Lawrence-Nelson when the teams last played back in October of 2021, as the team secured a 52-14 victory. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
